A welcoming place for faith, support and community.

Who we are

Located at 51 Morrow Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba (R2M 1A5), in the St. Vital area, south of Fermor Avenue and St. Anne's Road, our mission embodies the ongoing mission of The Salvation Army: to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs, and be a transforming influence in the local community of Winnipeg.
Our work highlights our commitment to holistic support, addressing both the spiritual and practical needs of the people they serve.
As a Salvation Army church, Living Hope is a Christian church that welcomes everyone in the community. So, if you are looking for a place to call home, look no further… Welcome Home!

Our history

Our Legacy in Winnipeg

The Salvation Army’s roots in Winnipeg run deep, dating back to December 1886. Since those early days, the Army has lived out its mission of “soup, soap, and salvation,” recognizing that true spiritual hope often begins with meeting basic human needs.
For over a century, The Salvation Army has been a steadfast presence in the city—pioneering social services from the first incorporated Grace Hospital in Canada (1904) to vital programs such as community and family services, disaster relief, and support for vulnerable populations.

Living Hope Community Church at 51 Morrow Avenue

Our chapter in this legacy began with the opening of the Barbara Mitchell Community & Resource Centre in July 2012. In late spring 2013, Living Hope Community Church made its home at 51 Morrow Avenue, transforming the space into a vibrant place of worship and service.
Here, within these walls, we continue to live out the meaning of “Living Hope”—offering compassion, belonging, and practical support to everyone who walks through our doors.

What We Offer

At Salvation Army Living Hope Community Church, there's something for everyone

Worship

Encounter God. Be Transformed.
At Living Hope, worship is at the heart of everything we do. Through heartfelt music, inspiring messages, and meaningful prayer, our Sunday services create space to encounter God and grow in faith. Whether you're new to church or a lifelong believer, you're invited to worship with us in a warm, welcoming environment that celebrates God’s love and truth.

Community

Life is Better Together.
Living Hope is more than a place to attend—it’s a place to belong. From family dinners and youth nights to small groups and service projects, we offer opportunities to build genuine connections, support one another, and live out our faith together. Everyone is welcome, and there’s always room at the table.

Women's Ministry

Empowering Women to Flourish.
Our Women’s Ministry is a vibrant space where women of all ages come together to grow spiritually, build meaningful friendships, and be refreshed. Through monthly gatherings, encouraging conversations, and special events like Ladies’ Night, we create opportunities for rest, renewal, and joyful connection in Christ.

Events and Workshops

At LHCC, Events and Workshops are dynamic opportunities to grow in faith, build life skills, and connect with others in meaningful ways. From seasonal celebrations and guest speakers to hands-on workshops and practical seminars, each event is designed to inspire, equip, and unite our community. Whether you're deepening your spiritual journey or simply looking to engage with others in a fun and supportive environment, there's something for everyone.

Youth Programs

Our Youth Programs at LHCC are all about creating a safe, encouraging space where young people can discover who they are, grow in their faith, and build lasting friendships. With a mix of fun activities, mentorship, leadership development, and faith-based learning, our programs aim to empower the next generation to live with purpose and confidence. Every gathering is an opportunity for youth to be seen, heard, and supported.
